The Programme
Steps 2 Work was a temporary employment programme that lasted up to 50 weeks and that enabled participants to work full or part time and be paid a wage in line with the National Minimum Wage. Steps 2 Work was primarily aimed at those who had completed a New Deal option and had not been successful in obtaining employment however it was also open to lone parents and those with a disability.
During its recruitment phase 95 people joined Steps 2 Work and more than 50% of them completed or left the programme having secured permanent employment.
This programme is still in operation however you should be advised that recruitment has ended
