Progress2work

Progress2work is funded by the Department for Employment and Learning with four contracts awarded - one to cover each Health Board area in Northern Ireland. Strabane & District Community Work Programme was successful in obtaining the contract for the Western Health Board area.
The Customers
- Must be unemployed & receiving a working age benefit
& - Have a history of drug or alcohol misuse Or
- Be an ex prisoner/ex offender Or
- Currently be or have been homeless
The Service
Each Progress2Work customer will have his/her own Support Worker who will work with them on a one to one basis. The Support Worker will help the individual to identify all the barriers which are preventing them from progressing to work or training and will plan how best to address these barriers. The Support Worker will remain in close contact with all customers to support and guide them as they progress towards training or employment. The Support Worker will continue to support the customer even after they have progressed to training or obtained employment provided the customers wants their support.

Work Preparation Programme
A 12 week programme designed to help people return to work. The Work Preparation Programme is one element of Pathways to Work operated by DEL.
